FRANCOPHONIE DAYS IN ARMENIA 2018



Francophonie is an event happening every two years and this year, it is our turn to host the 17th edition of Francophonie summit.

THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF LA FRANCOPHONIE
Being the greatest International linguistic zone in the world the international organization of la Francophonie tries to share not only the French language but also the values of French-speaking people. The international organization of la Francophonie organizes the Francophonie Festival around the world.
LA FRANCOPHONIE SUMMIT
2018 La Francophonie summit is going to take place in Armenia, Yerevan. It will bring officials and heads of state from 84 countries on October 11. By the way, it is the largest international event taking place in Armenia.

1. French is the second widely used language after English.
2. France is the most visited country in the world.
3. French has more than a million words.
4. The International Francophonie Day is celebrated since 1988.

BENEFITS OF FRANCOPHONIE
French Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte once said that they think French is a very important language which needs to be promoted more. He considered French to be a language of friendliness and exchange. French is undoubtedly one of the most spoken languages in the world.

The Embassy of France will start the Francophonie event in Yerevan with a series of cultural events. They will take place from March 12 to April 12. The events will include culture, cinema, music, theatre, and food.
